Associated Press.

Capitol cop is put on leave for shooting dead Trump rioter and Air Force vet, 35, as she climbed through a smashed window into the Congressional Chamber
Ashli Babbitt, 35, was shot in the chest by an officer after chaos was unleashed when thousands of the president's supporters breached the security perimeter of the Capital. She died several hours later
Babbitt's husband said she was a 14-year veteran who served four tours with USAF as a 'high level security official,' she was a fervent Trump supporter and 'a great patriot to all who knew her'
Newly surfaced footage of the fatal incident shows Babbitt and a group of Trump supporters attempting to force their way through double doors which had been barricaded
'He's got a gun,' one of the rioters starts to yell to his comrades - but the warning is too late - and Babbitt can be seen trying to clamber through a broken window before a shot is fired which sends her flailing backwards
She was shot by a plainclothes officer after trying to enter the chamber, said Washington Police Chief Contee
The officer involved in the shooting has been placed on leave pending an investigation
The 35-year-old regularly voiced support for Trump and Q-Anon on Twitter
In one of her final tweets, authored on January 5, she wrote: 'Nothing will stop us. They can try and try and try but the storm is here and it is descending upon DC in less than 24 hours….dark to light!'

EXCLUSIVE: Airforce vet Trump rioter, 35, who was shot dead by cops while storming Capitol had charges of reckless endangerment, malicious destruction of property and tampering with a car on her rap sheet
Ashli Babbitt, 35, died from a gunshot wound to the chest after she joined dozens of protestors who stormed the Capitol on Wednesday
A witness to the shooting suggested she was shot by police when she tried to climb through a broken window to get into congressional chambers
DailyMail.com can reveal she was previously prosecuted for reckless endangerment, malicious destruction of property in July 2016
The 14-year Air Force veteran was also the subject of two restraining orders
Babbitt, then named McEntree, was also prosecuted for tampering with a 2012 Ford on a country road in Prince Frederick, a Maryland town outside D.C.
Court records reveal police found probable cause for the two criminal charges, but Calvert County court acquitted her of the reckless endangerment charge
She was found not guilty of malicious destruction or tampering
Babbitt was subject to a temporary peace order filed in February 2017
An unidentified loved one sent Babbitt a text as she flew to DC for the protest,
'Be safe. I cannot lose you,' the sender wrote, as Babbitt texted back a selfie from her airplane seat wearing a 'Trump 2020' mask
She wrote: 'Tons of trump supporters on my plane!!!! I'll watch my 6' – using the military term for looking out behind you

Congress overwhelmingly dismisses bid to overturn Joe Biden's victory - but majority of House Republicans and seven Senators STILL back Trump despite MAGA riot
The Senate was first to vote on an Electoral College objection and voted 93 to 6 against a challenge of Arizona's 11 votes going to President-elect Joe Biden
Ringleader Sens. Ted Cruz and Josh Hawley maintained their support of the challenges even after Wednesday's MAGA riot on Capitol Hill
Other Republicans who said they'd join the movement changed their mind, including Sen. Kelly Loeffler, who lost her race early Wednesday in Georgia
On the House side, 122 GOP lawmakers sided with President Donald Trump, despite the earlier violence directed at Congress and the U.S. Capitol
However, the Democrat-controlled House still knocked down the Arizona challenge with 220 Democrats and 83 Republicans voting to kill it
A second challenge came around midnight, with Hawley signing onto a House Republican bid to question Pennsylvania's Electoral College votes
That attempt was quashed too, with the Senate immediately voting 92-7 to overrule
The House took two hours to debate the merits and also defeated the challenge 282-138

Three heads roll: Capitol Police Chief, House and Senate Sergeant at Arms all QUIT - as it's revealed cops were 'intentionally under-powered to stop bad optics of armed officers'
The chief of Capitol Police, Steven Sund, handed in his resignation on Thursday night
He had been under growing pressure to step aside after Wednesday's riots and will step down January 16
Sergeant at Arms Paul D. Irving - whose job is to protect the House - also stepped down on Thursday
They were both followed out the door by Michael Stenger, the Senate Sergeant at Arms and Doorkeeper
Nancy Pelosi had called for the resignation of Sund, who became Capitol Police Chief in June 2019
There are only 2,300 Capitol Police officers in total and it's unclear how many work a shift at any one time
DC Mayor Muriel Bowser submitted a request on New Year's Eve for National Guard back up from Jan 5-7
But she was only given 340 troops and was told they'd be used to assist with traffic control
On Thursday she shrugged the blame, saying it was down to Capitol Police to request back up earlier
DC Attorney General Karl Racine said on Thursday morning they'd been 'let down' by federal partners
Eventually, at 3.51pm on Wednesday, 1,100 National Guardsmen were mobilized but by then it was too late
The attempted coup on Wednesday was the first time the Capitol has been breached since 1814
Four rioters died, including a 35-year-old female Trump supporter who was shot by police
One Capitol Police officer is on life support having suffered a stroke, it was confirmed on Thursday night
